Hollybrook Junior School

School Council

Autumn Term 2021

Our new pupil council have been voted for by their classes. They are excited for meetings and getting ready to share ideas for this academic year!

The pupil council are responsible for representing the pupil voice across the two schools. They infants and juniors work together as one school council. Each class has a representative who attends meetings twice a half term. In these meetings members bring along points to discuss, usually based around what the children have suggested, changes we can make to improve or fundraising. Pupil council members collect suggestions in from their class peers to gather ideas and report these at the meeting for discussion. They then go back and share the minutes of the meeting with their class. You will find a few of the initial ideas we have discussed in our most recent minutes on the website. The children have great ideas and we are excited for the year ahead.

Autumn Term 2021

We are excited to share with you that we will now be working towards achieving our next High Five Healthy School Award! We last achieved this in 2019 and a lot has happened since then! Achieving this award helps us ensure we are eating healthy school meals, drinking enough water and having access to water throughout the day. It is also important for us to be practising mindfulness for a minute a day and keep active. As part of this award we will run, walk or jog a mile a day four times a week. At the Hollybrook Schools we all work together to be healthy, but we certainly have areas we can improve on. Watch this space!
