The Hollybrook Leadership Award
The Hollybrook Leadership Award has been designed to support children from an early age develop their self-confidence and independence to help them start taking responsibility for themselves. Children need the opportunity to participate in a variety of experiences to learn new and varied skills on their own as this nurtures their self-esteem, which is an important part of the character education provision across the Hollybrook Schools.
By completing several tasks in each school year, children will be able to practise a range of age-appropriate life skills and further develop their level of confidence in their ability to be independent.
There are eleven challenge areas:

Challenges
- Each year group from Year R to Year 6 will have eleven age-appropriate challenges to complete throughout the academic year.
- Once a challenge is completed, it will be signed off by the parent/class teacher.
- A child can only complete the challenges for one level per year (except for in year 2024/2025 where two can be completed except Year R and 6).
- The children can do their challenges in any order.
- They should bring their Leadership award books into school every Friday.
Rewards
- Once all eleven challenges have been completed, the children will receive their certificate and a colourful pin badge for that leadership level.
- There will be a special celebration at the end of the school year to celebrate all the challenges that have been completed.
- There will be an opportunity to complete a very small number of the challenges within school time.
- To show that a challenge has been completed, please follow the instructions and complete the corresponding sheet, sticking it in the book once complete.
